So I went junkin' this weekend with my Bestie Donna and Scored these awesome tin roof tiles.
There they were all rusty and bent up
Most people would have passed that over,
But not me....I had something in mind.
Rust? Nothing a can of White spray paint can't fix.....
(Sorry I forgot to take a pic of it painted all white)
Then I printed a free French clip art on the computer...
Burned the edges with a lighter...
and Decoupaged it on
Punch some holes in the top corners with my crop a dile...
Added some black ribbon and burlap...
Then made some burlap and black ribbon flowers....
And
Ta Da!!!
Soo Cute right?
From THIS........
To THIS!!!!!!
So easy...and would look great in a bathroom...I just love how it turned out.
I have more to do and I'm sure they will all turn out different.
I hope this inspires you look at those rusty items in a differnt way!
So don't pass them up....pick them up and transform them!!!!

From vintage roof tile to awesome home decor. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea -- I'd also clean them up and use them as backing for under a cabinet - or on a range hood. (can you tell I'm in a building frame of mind!)

it came out great! thanks for sharing at cap creations. have you tried printing on tissue paper? I did it for our Easter eggs this year (you can search them on the blog if you care to) and it was much easier than i thought. when you glue it on the paper becomes transparent so all you see is the printed areas.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this IS too cute. I absolutely love it. You are so very clever my dear.
