Hi Creative Peeps!
Hope everyone had a creatively great weekend.
Around Christmas time last year we went to Texas and I actually bought this wood letter B unfinished thinking I'd cover it with fabric or paper or paint it and hang it on the wall or set it on a shelf in our house.
I decided I wanted to use it for decor at my wedding reception in September so It was time to cover it up.
Then Maybe I'll hang it on the entry door of the hall or put it on the welcome table. Who knows where it may end up but here is the tutorial on how I did it.
So get your "naked" letter
Get some Tacky glue (or glue of your choice)
Get some instant moss (doesn't matter what brand)
Spread the glue evenly all over your letter. I started with the front because if I had any piecing to do I wanted that to be in the back.
Then press the sheet of moss over the whole front and flip over.
Once you flip over, you may have to cut out pieces and if you are going around a rounded area, you may have to cut slits in so that it lays down nicely.
I discover if you did need to piece any or layer any that you just add more glue and with the moss it really doesn't show the seems.
And here is the finished product. I LOVE how this came out and I can't wait to see it at the reception!
This letter is big. About 12-13" tall. I priced these already finished with moss from some companies online and they were way more than what this cost me.
The cost of my giant letter "B" was $5.99 for the unfinished letter and the pack of moss was $6.99 and I had a little bit left over. You can't beat that.
I hope you like my letter "B" and I hope you might try to cover something that you like in moss. It was messy, but fun!
